I became a NW World Perks awards member because I started to do multi trips to the Philippines starting in 2000. Even though I was flying on fares from a ticket consolidator, I was still able to earn miles which earned my wife and I two free trips (coach) before being absorbed into Delta upon the merger. Through the years, my travel on Delta has decreased because they cut back on many of the routes that brought us to Manila. I was able to book through Korean Airlines, but did not get the points/miles on Delta due to the partnership. Now I fly Philippine Airlines which is a more direct flight out of JFK. My last trip was Xmas 2019 before the pandemic and I don't know when we will return because of the limited entry right now. I am hoping by April 2022, everything will be back to normal as my son is scheduled to graduate college with a nursing degree and I want to be there for that.
