It is impossible to do any reliable guessing about 6 months out. It will depend on how much the world returns to normal, and whether there will be a market for daily or even twice daily NYC flights.

As your ticket is issued by AA, they are really the ones that have to work on your rebooking in case the schedule continues to be reduced. Anecdotally, JAL has been good a accommodating passengers with partner awards during the pandemic.
