That's a great option (and probably the best food option at ORD), but having flown 50+ connecting flights with my daughter (now 9, started at 14 days old) I wouldn't count on it. A slight delay, an unexpectedly long distance between gates, or even an extra long restroom detour will put picking up food at risk. I learned early on to bring enough food for the entire journey for both of us.
