I would say it hasn't impacted my vacation destination but it definitely influences how I get there or where I position myself to get somewhere, creating some fun stopovers on the way. For example, my wife and I did Australia and New Zealand on miles. While I could get US-Australia in J going down for a reasonable amount of miles going down, I couldn't get it coming back, but I could get New Zealand-Japan and then Japan-USA for a reasonable amount of miles, so we did 72 hours in Tokyo on the way back. As an additional bonus, following some schedule changes on the Japan-USA legs, I was able to switch to get NRT-DTW on a DL 747 in J in the 747's final year of operation with DL.
