Yes, the Hawaii flights usually depart on time - that isn't the issue. It is getting to ORD that might be the issue. With that said, I would not do 5 hour layovers in LAX/SFO and as others have noted, it would take a freak storm to be "winter" in CLE or ORD in that timeframe.
