I would go to Virgin anytime, especially now that the new pool complex is open. It's a shame the Waldorf never took off and got their meh product up to par since it opened. It's also a shame some of this new place's budget wasn't put towards fixing existing properties (washed up Tropicana!) Hilton's offerings in Vegas are just cheapening the names of their otherwise mostly-good brands.
I can't help but wonder if the whole national "no one can get good help" pandemic zeitgeist of free-money-to-stay-home is contributing to debacles like we are seeing at the RW.
My airline of choice can't keep rampers and baggage employees leading to horrible waits, many local restaurants have signs pre-apologizing for limited hours and discontinuance of services because they can't get people to show up, etc.
I don't doubt that megaresorts have problems staffing up to the levels they'd need for maintaining huge properties like this at even a minimal level. Add in the heatwave, the "dispensary culture" folks that have started to line the Strip, the crime, and once-shiny Vegas vibe has gone downhill for me.
Heard the Tropicana was sold some months ago

I agree the vibe is off.in Las Vegas You can feel it with many of the front lines that work there.
It's been a hard year for so many and morale is in the toilet.Eventually over time I think it will change provided variants
don't wipe us all away from those that choose to not vaccinate
I'm down to trying out Virgin though I have heard complaints of cheap linens and uncomfortable pillows.
The Hyatt Place has extreme noise issues being so close to the runways so I don't stay there
I'll assume Virgin has the proper soundproofing
Love the Waldorf even with the old Mandarin O well worn hard product.
The team has been great to me with upgrades and the breakfast when open has typically been stellar one of the best in the city
I'm reasonably sure the budget to remodel got put on hold once the revenue stream went bust during Covid.
I know there was a big undertaking set to go forward over a year ago
