Interesting on the NKS flight numbers.... For years, a lot were "area code flights" where as like flight 404 was FLL-ATL, etc. You can still see some like 305 FLL-BWI, 202 DFW-BWI, 972 PHX-DFW, etc. Some inside scoop from a friend there.... some of the flight numbers are personal requests. The reason flight number 1 and 2 are between FLL and ORD is one of the people who assigns the flight numbers is from ORD and flies that frequently. Same friend got asked once what was his favorite number and then the flight to his home town became that number.
