Very much true.
ORD is most at risk for thunderstorms (Jul/Aug) and periodic snowstorms (Jan/Feb).
I did read with the finalization of the runway configuration (8 parallel?) finishing soon, it will have the most (potential) arrival/departure capacity in the world. Of course, weather dependent.
