It's a bit disappointing but I'm really glad I didn't pay the ~$500/night the rooms were going for when I booked the award stay. I'd be pissed. I haven't checked the Hilton prices but I guess if it was cheap enough I'd consider staying at the Hilton, but only after everything is opened (the spa doesn't open until this fall). If you have status I highly recommend the Virgin - chances are you'll get a pretty nice room upgrade to a much, much nicer room. You'll get the same daily F&B credit and end up paying half as much. The only thing nice about the room was that I got a strip view on the 33rd floor so I had an incredible view of the fireworks. That and the pool salvaged the trip. The food was only so-so, it did not knock my socks off like many of the Caesars or MGM venues.
And what boggles my mind is that they had people tour these rooms months ago, they have been finished for a while (at least some of them) and they still have these issues?
EDIT: The only silver lining I can think of as a guest is that if/when Marriott actually opens up the old Fontainebleau they have a perfect roadmap for how to not introduce a luxury brand. I hope they're taking notes and keep it a two-brand property (JW and EDITION).
Good feedback thank you
Virgin bed softer or firmer?
Hilton Resorts World LV was running 139 dollars a night plus resort fee taxes etc or 44k to 49 k in HH points per night
I came to the conclusion go Hilton if at all and I perceive the Crock to look like a solid choice and has real room service
