Same experience as
afmiami during recent stay. Breakfast was a pre-packed bag with yogurt, choice of apple or orange, and granola bar. Free coffee, lattes, & tea selection in lobby. The latte/cappuccino machine was excellent (and I'm not a fan of machines), but there was a long line of 3-4 people making multiple drinks in the mornings. One morning I clocked a 15 min+ wait. No coffee shop nearby, so a bit inconvenient. Though several cute bakery, breakfast type places in a 10 min walk radius.
I loved the quirkiness of the hotel. The location is fantastic for my tastes--easy access to Japantown, Fillmore, quieter neighborhood, great for morning runs to Alamo Sq or Alta Plaza Parks. Staff were warm and friendly and tried hard. My room (with balcony) was really loud though between street noise and the adjacent service elevator to the point where it disrupted sleep. I'm very used to urban life (lived in NYC for many years), and rarely notice noise in hotels. So that was unusual. Torn because there's so much to love about the hotel. Prob for me will reserve for leisure, not business trips.
