But if I book one seat that's available with miles a month out, what are the chances that a second one opens up before departure? Not sure what the odds are, but i am 2 for 2 using this strategy (so 100% strike record). Booked other half into F and myself into J originally, and then approx 3 days before the flight a second F seat opened up. Both times F was very lightly loaded, only 1 or 2 other passengers both times.
