Arrived as #1 and asked gate staff when I’d know if I’ve been upgraded to the 1 seat available (thanks ExpertFlyer). I was told about 45 minutes. Boarding would start in 35 minutes (?). Maybe someone with higher status would check in. They still have time (?).
They never called me up, so I waited for Group 2 announcement.
As I scanned my boarding pass, it showed incorrect seat. The same guy I spoke to 35 minutes ago then reached in to grab my new boarding pass.
Weird to say the least.

and why is there no plugs on AA to charge devices?
One flight and I love AS even more!
This has happened to me sometimes on AS as well. The screens and app didn't update, but when I scanned my BP, the GA would just tell me that I've been moved to 2A or something. Also on many of the AA narrowbodies, you need to flip up the center armrest and the outlets are hidden in the pocket along the back wall
