It sounds to me that this was a way for the FA to stop you from getting more hammered without hurting your feelings. They have no reason to cut you off unless they thought you were intoxicated—or at least that one more drink would put you over the edge. I can’t really blame the FA: it’s their job. Especially these days with unpredictable unruly passengers in all cabins.
