I am almost certain this was all made up by the FAs, but on my flight from Rome to Dallas, both my partner and I were cut off after 4 drinks (the little bottles of Tito's Vodka).

My FA said we were drinking too fast, and there's a new rule that limits passenger consumption to 1 drink per hour and no more than 4 over a 6-hour period. So, she cut us off until she decided it was okay for us to drink again.

Later on, I asked her again when the 'rule' was implemented, and another FA intervened and said it was recent change and if we kept on drinking she'd have to report us upon landing.

Such a bizarre experience.
