We recently had a 1:30 connect at ADD (JNB-ORD). We were booked in business as a 2:20 connection but the flight departed over 40 minutes late.

I was worried about it but we arrived at the new terminal and we made it through connection security and through the secondary security for North America in something like 20 - 25 minutes. I don't remember having to take my shoes off for the connection security. But the secondary security for North America was much more intensive/intrusive. It was tighter than I would have liked but I never felt that I wasn't going to make it. And we ended up cooling our heels at the gate for about an hour.
