  • There are several levels of tunnels and getting to the others is not easy as no elevators or escalators are available to do so. The lowest level is the one that has stimulated all the conspiracy speculation.
  • The automated baggage tunnel has been long since converted for use by baggage trams.
I think the intent of the question was if an ordinary ticketed traveler could walk from A to B not if it is physically possibly. I can easily walk from A to B by going out the emergency exit door on A walking across the tarmac and hoping to get to B by the time the police arrive.

Also, the baggage tunnels haven't been converted (I believe they have taken out the belts though) the baggage carts use tunnels that were built when the airport was built

The trains have been very reliable over the years so its not needed from a Plan B perspective.
I do agree with this, while there have been a few instances of them going down and needing to be manually operated they have been very reliable.

You are also right about the distance in DEN being much greater than any other airport. I think people forget about how much land DEN has, I did some quick (approximate) Google Maps measurements and the distances in DEN are almost twice of what any other airport is DEN
Terminal to A - 1,000ft
A to B - 1,800ft
B to C - 1,550 ft

ORD
B to C - 900ft

ATL1,000 ft between each concourse.

LAX
700ft between terminals.

IAD (closest one I could find but doesn't offer a walking option)
A/B to C/D - 1,200ft.
