I have a companion voucher which was original used on flights to Thailand for last May, which we then had to rebook for THIS May, which obviously got cancelled again. It means I have a companion voucher which is due to expire Jan 31st 2022 - and no trips planned in that time. I think I read a strategy which suggested booking any Europe flight with Avios + £35, then cancel, and I will get a future travel voucher which has a later expiry date on it.
  • Is this still possible?
  • Is this my best strategy?
  • Are there any downsides?
  • I presume my Avios points are "held" in the Future Travel Voucher?
  • Do I loose the £35 per flight?
  • Anything else I should be aware of?
I did start looking through the 117 pages of this thread, but started to loose the will! Sorry if this has already been discussed. THANK YOU!
