From what I’m reading on HAs website, HA Platinums get complimentary UGs at T-24 check-in and this comes out of the same fare bucket for the non-HA elite $50 inter-island DOD UG. If you really want free bags, your best bet would be to re-price your DL ticket to originate out of HNL and purchase a separate cheap WN inter-island flight to HNL and give yourself 3-4 hours of “layover” to re-check your bag with DL. There is a chance however the HA bag fees could be cheaper than this and you will just have to do the math and figure out what is the cheapest option for you.
good point on WN. Next time I’m going to book DL metal the entire way.

we’re you able to see yourself in the upgrade list after checking in with the agent?
