You just described Whistler overall! From the hotels to the lift ticket prices, everything there is inflated for what you get, and is one reason I haven't skied at Whistler in many years.

When I was last there (which was probably 4 or 5 years ago, now), I found the Gold rooms to be very nice, and the Gold lounge was excellent. I've not stayed in a non-Gold room to compare.
