So far the only complication was whether an AS partner would accrue status miles or not....I've never flown CO as a result. Now we get to spend more time squinting at the screen to figure out class of service amongst status miles partners and their other pros and cons of prices/schedules etc.
I can't see how it can work too well for Delta to be uncompetitive with AA & NW to attract AS flyers.

Maybe on some routes Delta is the only status mile partner, but on most routes there are bound to be AA or NW flights that are competitively priced that brainlessly provide a full ride.
