Today I just happened to check the same itinerary again and was offered NW from home to DTW to ORD and KLM's business class service to AMS from ORD and NW's WBC AMS-DTW on the return.

Which, in everyone's opinion, is the best option? I'd only have one layover on DL in ATL, but chapter 11 is right around the corner for them and I've heard so many good things about KLM and the 330 in WBC sounds nice too.

I can't decide
Why don't you fly one DL one direction and either KL or NW on the return? You can mix and match carriers with awards. I have done it many times and have had as many as 3 a couple times and 4 carriers on an award.

While DL Chapter 11 could happen soon, it doesn't mean they'll stop operating tomorrow. I'm not sure how far out your trip is. I recently purchased a revenue ticket for international travel on DL for travel this week/next week and I am confident they'll get me to my destination and back home safely.

I like DL's Business Elite Product as well as the BusinessElite lounges. I have flown BusinessElite on the 767-300ER and found the seating quite comfortable. The seats are narrow compared to BC seating on larger aircraft, but I enjoyed it. The ammenity kit also has some nice L'Occitane products.

If you can't decide, I'd go DL one way and NW return and compare the two for yourself.

Best,
