Second rental at SAN within the same week. It’s the 4th of July weekend. The check-in counter guy on Friday wasn’t as nice as the one I got on Tuesday and was kinda short with me. Anyway, the attendant upstairs recognized me and was the same friendly guy as earlier. This time I booked an intermediate class and was told to choose any car from the intermediate aisle (no upgrades prob due to the holiday weekend and they actually had cars in the same class in stock). The weird part is that the intermediate aisle had a bunch of compact cars with I think only two actual intermediate cars (both were white beat up looking Toyota Corollas). Instead of the beat up looking Corollas, we chose a brand new off the factory belt Nissan Versa SV with 8 miles on it. I’m just curious why this is classified as an intermediate instead of a compact? Because it’s the SV trim? I thought the designation were by model and not trim? All of the Nissan Versa SVs were parked in the intermediate aisle. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with my choice since I chose the new Versa over the old Corolla, but it’s definitely no Mini Cooper Countryman!)
