SN Brussels Airlines: "We still want to use the SN designator, but as SABENA went bust we can't call our flight operations that any more, so we'll make something up in a hurry. We're based in Brussels, by the way, and choosing the English name is a lot easier than having to worry about linguistic politics."
I think SABENA was the "Société Anonyme Belge des Exploits Nautiques et Aéronautiques" originally set up to provide transport to/from Belgium's colonies (notably, the Belgian Congo as was).
