For what it's worth, I called the HGI Shoreview (MN). The phone watch said Golds and Diamonds are given the choice between a credit or breakfast. I hope this practice is widespread.

Also for what it's worth, the HGI Gettysburg (PA) offered breakfast (cooked to order but limited buffet items) for $7.95 two months ago. There, at least, one might come out ahead with a voucher.
