(Fwiw this appears to be a new issue as we've qualified for the companion pass for quite some time and never run into this before but have now experienced this for our flights this year) So if the other traveler waits to check in what boarding position would they get? My assumption is that Southwest isn't going to move other boarding positions back so the companion would get a boarding position significantly farther back in the boarding process. Are members and companions allowed to board together at the highest boarding position?
Same questions here. Good to know what’s causing it but without knowing impact or waiting a few minutes to checkin the second boarding position could be in completely different group.
