I don’t know if this is the correct thread to post since I don’t see an Alamo specific thread, but I reserved a compact car at the San Diego Alamo location for pick up after 7:30 pm. Not sure if it’s the new norm, but the daily rate is quite high for a compact, but it was cheapest between different companies. The guys working the counter and especially the person helping select the vehicle were all so nice. The lot had maybe a dozen or so cars that were freshly washed. The attendant and I were chit chatting, and he said since I was only renting for a day, he can let me choose between a Nissan Maxima or a Mini Countryman. I had never driven the Countryman before, so went with that. I think in hindsight, the Maxima would have been more comfortable to drive. But either way, very happy with the upgrade as it is several leaps above my reserved class.
