I don't know the direct answer to your question, but why do you believe it necessary to open a business checking account to obtain a Chase Ink card? My wife and I have held several Chase Ink cards without ever having a business checking account.

I didn't say necessary, but from data points in this thread, folks seem to have better chances on card approval when they already have a business banking relationship with Chase...especially for sole proprietors like me. In any case, I don't think having a biz account would
hurt.
