Most credit cards provide trip delay coverage. My Chase Sapphire Preferred covers up to $500 for situations like this.
For the $160 you lost on the hotel if you booked direct (and not through a 3rd party) just call the hotel and nicely ask if there's anything they can do about the $160. Chances are if you are nice they'll just cancel with no penalty.
