I was told not to talk around baggage reclaim for pandemic and security reasons

I have a weird habit of walking a lot when I’m on the phone. I had just arrived from a flight from Glasgow and was waiting on my bag in T5.

My phone rang and I was talking in between claim 1 and 2, talking on the phone waiting for my bag to come. Then an angry British airways baggage lady came up to me and effectively shouted at me for walking and standing next to a belt that wasn’t mine. I asked why and she said it was due to pandemic and security reasons.

can’t be pandemic cause I was miles away from everyone and technically I was more self isolating and can’t be security cause we’re all in a secure area at the end of our flight. And me walking in a near empty large hall doesn’t cause much of an security risk.

in fairness I didn’t argue with her, but I’m now wondering if she has a point

any and all opinions are appreciated
