The correct way is that they do not. The reservations manager confirms them in Hyatt’s opera system which unfortunately does not talk to the reservation system until a few days before the client check ins. There are a few hotels that confirm the room upgrade by changing the clients actual reserved room type on the Hyatt confirmation - which then updates on the app and Hyatt website.
Thanks, that clarifies things. It was just the deviation from what I considered normal which triggered this question in my head.
