I doubt they would be turning it on/off by car. We had a rental for a week over Memorial Day in Dallas and it had SiriusXM radio even though we did not request it nor pay for it.

add: it looks like reading the other thread I must be wrong and they are turning it on/off at the rental time. I guess I am lucky with my recent rentals that had it for the whole time.
