They need to have either a sign by the cash register stating whether or not GP points are awarded for purchases (spa, restaurant, parking, etc.). Or they should have the information listed in the binder provided in each room that describes the services available for that particular Hyatt. This is where the problem lies. If you pull up to the front entrance of the hotel and a valet with a Hyatt name tag and uniform takes your car, and gives you a claim receipt with the Hyatt logo on it, it is natural to assume that this is a Hyatt service and the $30 a day you are paying for parking will not be a total waste of money since you’ll at least get your 150 points. The same holds true for spas, restaurants, etc. If you have received points for treatments at 5 other Hyatt spas is it unrealistic to assume that you will also receive points at the 6th spa you try out?
I’m sure that NJUPINTHEAIR now knows that the Beaver Creek spa is contracted, but how in the heck is the average guest suppose to know that? I don’t think your average FTer is your average guest, since they often understand the T&Cs better than many employees.
