Ah so you think its due to staffing issues. That they are pre-emptively canceling flights due to weather but the ulterior motive its that they have staffing issues. That does make sense as others have noted:

American apparently has also done this cancellation but seem to at least explicitly say it's due to staffing while Southwest is still making excuses.
My next roundtrip is half Spirit half Southwest. It's sad I am actually more worried about the Southwest portion!
What did AA give you in the form of compensation for cancelling the trip?
