Just received a schedule change for a flight in September. The change is from 3:45pm to 6:59pm. While this may seem small it is actually quite an inconvenience to the person taking me to the airport as it puts them in rush hour traffic in New York, as I like to arrive 2 hours early and enjoy the lounge.
In the email I can go online and make changes. I know the flights are higher now, would I be able to get the fare difference waived online or is this something I would have to call to do and may a YMMV experience? It can be quite difficult getting an agent these days with 4 hour+ wait times

Given the 2+ hour schedule change, you should be able to get different flights without fare difference provided they are on the same dates (sometimes they will let you changes dates within a day or two, but that is not formal policy).
