I agree with you that the robooking is an attempt to make the best of a bad situation for the customer. I don't believe that avoiding IDB compensation was a factor in these pre-emptive rebookings. However if the result includes avoidance of a legitimate VDB obligation, that's important to know. I have no special knowledge and no opinion on that question.
