Does anyone know why United is pushing flights with ANA over United? Thanks

If ANA is cheaper, it means that there is more discount inventory available on those flights than on the UA flights. UA isn't pushing flights with ANA -- they don't care which one you fly. They're just offering the lowest fares available, which happen to be on ANA for the day(s) you're looking.
This is all correct, but we should also remind OP flying NH metal will also not add to his UA lifetime miles.
