This was a pay-at-the-pump type of transaction? I did have two gas purchases at the same store/station but they were pay-inside only. And they both went through fine. In fact, I gave the card to my son to go inside on my behalf both times (morning and late afternoon).
I have traveled where you could find yourself in two different cities in one 24 hour period and you need to gas up two rental cars.
Or you get home from a trip and your car needs gas--and you have just dropped a rental car off at an airport after filling that car with gas a few hours earlier.
