I ended up using the Blue Line to get in. Not exactly sure how long the walk from the station to the hotel was as we got distracted by the starbucks on the walk. I tend to travel lightly so luggage wasnt an issue.

However, to get to the airport, we used a taxi to get to the station as we were running a little late to get to the airport from the hotel. Fare was $4 to Clark & Lake.
