I am a premier member of UA. I enjoy using the UA app to search for seating options and other perks of being a member. I am trying to fly NRT to IAH but the United website offers cheaper prices and better times with ANA. Since I am not a member of ANA, I lose my perks. ANA and United have a joint venture where they share revenue on certain TPAC routes; as part of that, their fares are aligned.
If ANA is cheaper, it means that there is more discount inventory available on those flights than on the UA flights. UA isn't pushing flights with ANA -- they don't care which one you fly. They're just offering the lowest fares available, which happen to be on ANA for the day(s) you're looking.
