My understanding is that Avis bought Budget (or the other way around?) some years ago, and now the offices are almost if not all co-located. With that in mind, and with prices matching, is there any reason to favor one over the other?

If this fits in an existing thread, feel free to move it. I couldn't find an existing thread. Also, I have no status with any rental car company. (I seem to rent a car about once every three years. But if membership in AARP or AAA or being a veteran gives me some advantage, please mention it.) Thanks.
