We are not "planning" on not keeping AS status, it just is not going to happen this year. But if I used AS miles to procure these tickets, how can I put our AA numbers onto the res? I'm not that worried about bags because if we drop from AS MVP, we still have the Alaska Visa credit card. Or will we? Actually our first flights out of EUG will be on AS, so will our AS Visa give us free checked bags all the way to LHR?

So it sounds like I might have the opportunity to get preferred seats, but not until check-in. Did not know this, thank you.

Seems like more questions keep cropping up the deeper I go.

The AA taxes are much less than other routes on BA (also using AS miles), I was just surprised they were minimal on the way over and hundreds on the way back
