Thanks
Each letter is a "fare bucket" "seat bucket" or "seat class".

The number is how many seats are left in that bucket. Most of the time it is somenumber between 0 (no seats, or ITN can't see any availabilty) and 9 (meaning at least 9 seats are available).

Sometimes they correspond to actual individual seats, sometimes not. (ie J3 D3 might mean there are only 3 seats available, and they are happy to sell them as full fare or discounted fares, or there might be 6 seats left. We'll never know!)

For QF A F Z are first class buckets (Z being the award/upgrade seats)
J C D I U are business class buckets (U being the award/upgrade seats)
the rest are normally economy class seats (X or T being award/upgrade seats).

On BA, W, T and P are world traveller plus seats.

Basically, if you see all 9s then there is room on the plane. If you see all 0s then it's full. If you are trying to book a particular class (N/O red-e-deal or similar) then it can be useful. If you are hoping for a ODU then D4 Y0 would be good (if you are a WP or higher), J9 D9 U4 would be even better.
