They should rebook you on the first option as they are covered by the joint venture across the pond. Both AA prime flight numbers also carry BA codeshare flight numbers.

Ultimately something is going to have to give, be that arrival time or transit time. You're going to have to decide what is most suitable from the available options. Given heavy premium loads I wouldn't waste too much time in telling BA which option you'd prefer.

787 on BA in J is forward/rearward facing Ying Yang style. 777 on AA in J is 1-2-1 reverse herringbone style.
