Several reasons in my mind. Firstly, I think it will make life easier. If I need to prove I'm vaccinated whilst in the UK, I would expect that to be easier if I can just show the NHS vaccine record rather than an overseas one that whoever I am showing it to will probably not have seen before and may not have the authority/sense to accept. And do we know whether, if the rumours are true and vaccinated entrants from amber countries will soon be able to avoid quarantine, that will encompass only people doubly vaccinated in the UK or also those who have received the vaccine in other countries?
Secondly, I
think the NHS have me down as having turned down the vaccination as I did not (could not!) take up their offer of one and I would rather that was not the case.
Thirdly, by the sound of it, a booster programme may well be happening later this year and I may be in the UK by then. I don't imagine they will offer me a booster if their records show I've not had the first two jabs.
