This is nothing new. AS has had a mop that has to be continuously squeezed out from all the cash it collects on short hops for as long as I've been flying AS, which is approximately 35 years. And it is nothing new for other airlines for their operations in captive markets. As for sanctimonious drivel, I'd rather have it the way it is currently served, than on a little slip of paper on my meal tray.

If AS weren't charging what the market will bear, and given the current load factors, it certainly is, the Ds and Os wouldn't nor shouldn't be surprised when the impending D&O lawsuit would hit.

Spare all of us the high prices and your new corporate wokeness. You fly planes This statement befuddles me, because "you are a corporation that flies planes to make a profit and provide a return to shareholders" is really the full statement. And furthermore, new corporate wokeness, whether sincere or not (and I believe it is sincere) is likely serving as effective marketing for the filling the seats in the flying planes.

So, as I have done, as many have done, I fly AS when it serves me better, and fly other airlines when they serve me better, either by price, schedule, comfort, or a combination of all. Three of my next four flight segments (all at transcon length) are not on AS. I still expect to be 75K before the summer solstice (you know, the one that occurs in late December, way down south )
