I've done the walk from LAX to the Hyatt or the Courtyard next to it a few times at night, most recently about two weeks ago on a Friday night around 9:30 pm. I feel it's a reasonably-safe walk; there are normally lots of vehicle traffic, very few, if any, dark spots, and there's frequently others making the trek (mainly a mix of airline crew, other staff working at LAX, and other travelers).

I will say that the traffic entering LAX earlier this month was pretty bad; it took at least 15 minutes on the Hertz shuttle to get from the entrance on Sepulveda to T1. The traffic the next morning around 7:15 am was much better but I'm pretty sure it was still quicker for us to walk to T2 than to take the shuttle.
That.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve walked (usually with a carry-on rollaboard, rarely a checked suitcase) to or from the HR over 25 times and a few times each to Hilton LAX and ES North, also a dozen walks (at night for dinner) along Century Blvd from and to HR to Crown Plaza (Sonesta), Marriott, Hilton LAX and several times from one of the hotels to the Bob Hope USU (located near or more recently in the Theme Building). ~20% of those walks at night. Always well lit and lots of others making the same walk. Occasional homeless person(s) but they’re mainly a block north or a few blocks further west (along La Cienega just north of Century). There are usually several police vehicles/officers parked and patrolling the roadway immediately adjacent to the sidewalk, particularly the stretch from Sepulveda to T1. (Few years ago I was stopped by a motorcycle police officer for crossing the street near T-1 against the light 😊, just a time consuming big ration of sh--, no summons or ticket.)

Most of my walks have been from and to T-7 United, occasionally TBIT, past few years T-4 American several times; invariably walking is significantly faster than any shuttle. Most importantly it’s much better exercise. Caution during the day, due to the East/West orientation of the walk, with all the tall buildings to the north and a wide road to the south, there’s little shade so on a hot sunny day it can end up being a pretty sweaty walk.

Compared to mid-town Manhattan (NY) at night, the walk from any terminal at LAX to any of the hotels on Century is safe at any time of day or night, a literal walk in the park (not Central Park).
