it’s a great destination, but not for snorkeling and I’m guessing not as good as the Caribbean for diving. Haven’t been to the other places

Cozumel has world class diving and it’s not that long a ride to some of the dive sites from Playa Del Carmen. Maybe Andaz Mayakoba has good options too.

OP havent been to any of them, but The Andaz is up North and a nice drive from SJO, if AA is flying into LIB then its alot better and closer. My pt is dont discount having a stop if it means alot less time in the end to get to the hotel
