So I am supposed to fly ANC-ATL-CHA tonight. I live closer to CHA than ATL. That's why I'm connecting. Unfortunately my ANC to ATL flight has been delayed almost an hour and I'm definitely not going to make my ATL to CHA connection. I'm assuming Delta will ask to rebook me on the next CHA flight 5 hours later.

However, it would be easier for me to just leave the ATL airport, get my dad to pick me up, and drive me home. It isn't an insane drive. Unfortunately, I have to check a bag. I can't just skip the connection and not tell Delta.

So I have two options I guess.

1. Skip the connection and drive to CHA later and pick up my lost bag. (How would this work?)

2. Kindly ask the Delta agents in ANC to tag my bag to exit baggage check in ATL so I can l leave. Dumb idea?
