If you wanted to get lounge access on status for domestic trips you'd have to get oneworld status from an airline other than AS or AA. The other two big alliances work this way too, UA/DL status will not get you into the lounges for domestic US flights but status in one of the other non-US-based airlines in the relevant alliance will.
While it works that way for UA clubs, it's not true for DL Sky Clubs. Non-DL Skyteam elites (including Elite Plus) and subject to the same rules as DL Medallions and do not get Sky Club access on purely domestic US itins --
