Yesterday I called up to change the destination and date of a 241 return flight. It all looked fine to me, just awaiting ticketing. This morning I called again to move the return flight to two days later as there were two CW rewards. (I had to make sure I could extend my accommodation dates).
The agent made the change (I saw it in MMB) and after putting me on hold for a while, came back to inform me that the flight could not be ticketed because it was awaiting ticketing and the ticketing back office would just reject the change. When I asked to then just keep the original return date, she said she could not do that either as there was a problem with the ticketing when yesterday’s change was made. She said my only option would be to accept a voucher and hope the reward seats, both out and back, would be put back up for grabs. She also said if I was unable to do that, there were still loads of economy reward seats for the dates. I told her I do not want to use a 241 on economy seats and asked to leave the booking as it is. In MMB, the return date is back to what it was yesterday.
I asked BA refund helper for help but unfortunately he is now on furlough. I wish him all the best.
Anyone else with this experience? What do members suggest I do? Any advice?
